What is 2FA and Why Should You Enable It?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Quest account. Even if someone gains access to your password, they won't be able to log in without the additional verification step provided by 2FA.

It ensures your account and sensitive data remain secure from unauthorized access.

In Quest, once 2FA is enabled, you'll need to authenticate your login with both your password and a 6-digit code generated by an authenticator app on your phone.

Popular Authenticator Apps

There are several authenticator apps that support Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) for generating 2FA codes. The two most commonly used are:

  • Google Authenticator (Available on iOS and Android)

  • Microsoft Authenticator (Available on iOS and Android)

Both of these apps are free and easy to use.

How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication in Quest

Follow these simple steps to set up 2FA in Quest:

Log in to Quest
Log in to your Quest account using your username and password.

Access Account Settings
Navigate to the three-dot menu (also known as the sidebar) on the left-hand side of the dashboard. Click on Account Settings.

Go to Security Settings
Under the Account Settings, find and click on Security. This is where you can enable or manage Two-Factor Authentication for your account.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication
You will see a large blue button labeled Enable Two-Factor Authentication. Click it to start the setup process.

Scan the QR Code
A QR code will be displayed on your screen (like the one shown in the image above).

  • Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator).

  • Tap on the + button to add a new account.

  • Select Scan a QR code, and use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.

  1. Enter the Code from Your Authenticator App
After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code in the provided field in Quest and click Validate Code.

  2. Enable 2FA
Once the code is validated, your account will be enabled for Two-Factor Authentication. From now on, whenever you log in, you’ll be prompted to enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app after entering your password.

Disabling Two-Factor Authentication

If you ever need to disable 2FA for any reason, you can revisit the Security settings in Account Settings and click the Disable Two-Factor Authentication button. You will need to confirm your action before the security measure is removed.
