In general, here at AllFly, we highly recommend AVOIDING booking group contracts for corporate travel, meetings, and team offsites.
What is a group contract?
Group contracts are arrangements where you pre-purchase blocks of seats on a plane. These contracts start at a minimum of 10 people and require everyone to be on the same flight.
The below video lays out the pros and cons of a group contract:
When are group contracts useful?
Group contracts can be beneficial for large groups of 25+ people. However, they come with A LOT of limitations that business travelers typically dislike:
1. Late Seat Assignments: Your seat won’t be assigned until the group is ticketed, which typically happens 30-45 days prior to travel. This means all the best seats are often already taken.
2. No Online Check-In: You cannot check in online, which can be inconvenient.
3. Flight Changes: Changing your flight with some airlines can become difficult.
4. Seating with Partners: If you are traveling with someone else, you are not guaranteed to sit with your partner.
For these reasons, we generally advise against booking group contracts for corporate meetings or team offsites. Instead, consider other flexible booking options that AllFly offers to ensure a smoother and more convenient travel experience for your team.
